A.F.C Walkern are excited to announce that we have been upgraded by Hertfordshire FA, to a 2-Star accreditation for the 2026-27 season.
The England Football 2-Star Accreditation is a grassroots status awarded to clubs that provide a complete player pathway in either male, female, or disability football, alongside some provision in a second pathway.
This recognition shows that A.F.C Walkern meets a high level of criteria across:
– Player Pathways: A.F.C Walkern offers comprehensive Player Pathways for male and female teams, ensuring that every player has the opportunity to develop their skills and progress within the club. This dedication to nurturing talent not only bolsters our teams but also fosters a strong sense of community and belonging among our players.
– Club Development Plan: A.F.C Walkern has a robust club development plan, which outlines our ambition to grow and remain sustainable over the long term. This plan not only focuses on improving our facilities and resources but also emphasises the importance of engaging the local community and providing a welcoming environment for all.
– Coaching and Safeguarding: All of our managers, coaches, and committee members hold current FA Qualifications and DBS checks, highlighting our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. We are dedicated to ongoing training and development for our coaching staff, ensuring that they remain up-to-date with the latest coaching methodologies and safeguarding practices.
This accreditation also reflects that A.F.C Walkern is a thriving club continuously striving to “Get Better Everywhere.” Our vision is not limited to on-field performance; we are equally focused on creating a positive and enriching experience for all members and fostering a culture of excellence and respect throughout the club.
